Today the Massachusetts Hispanic Scholarship Fund (MAHSF) was proud to award a $4,000 and $2,000 scholarship to our outstanding inaugural scholars at the Lawrence High School Alumni Association Scholarship Banquet. The two Lawrence High School (LHS) students will be moving on to college in the Fall.
Both students represent excellent academic achievement, but also overcame challenging obstacles to arrive in this country, learn a new language, deal with standardized testing, take college courses and apply to college. Both students will pursue majors in Nursing and will attend Massachusetts colleges in September. They leveraged Northern Essex’s Early College partnership program, where the students took high school and college courses during their school year at no cost.
