M&T Bank & Massachusetts Hispanic Scholarship Fund (MAHSF) provided a financial literacy session to an active student body at Lawrence High School. In conjunction with MAHSF, M&T Bank provided three core sessions on financial literacy that included key topics around budgeting, savings and managing your money. The M&T team also focused on how best to navigate credit and what that means and lastly educated the students on fraud, how to recognize it and protect yourself and your family. The students in attendance provided for a very interactive session with lots of questions and a strong understanding of many of these important areas in finance. It’s fantastic to see students beginning to take control of their finances at a young age.
This session represents just one critical way that MAHSF works with its most important sponsors to increase knowledge to the student base and community. Financial literacy sessions will continue to be a key component of MAHSF’s outreach and education program across Massachusetts schools in the coming years.
