The Massachusetts Hispanic Scholarship Fund (MAHSF) is excited to announce a new partnership with La Vida Scholars at Chelsea High School. La Vida Scholars and MAHSF align very well as their organization partners with families, equipping low-income, high-achieving students with access to resources and opportunities to enter top colleges and graduate with minimal to no debt. Through our outreach and education program, MAHSF will engage with La Vida Scholars’ Hispanic students to share key scholarship opportunities. Additionally, students can apply for our 2026–2027 scholarships, valued at $3,000 and $5,000. Engagement occurs through La Vida’s cadence of meetings with the students at Chelsea High School and through their amazing The Reveal event in May.
La Vida Scholars program in Chelsea began in 2022 and primarily serves immigrant families in the city whose children attend local public high schools. La Vida Scholars began in Lynn, MA in 2007. Services of their program include academic support, campus visits, monthly family meetings, matched college savings, individualized student advising and counseling and help in completion of scholarship and college applications.
The goal of MAHSF is to address some of the most challenging issues Hispanic students and families face in navigating scholarships while providing impactful scholarships of our own. As a 501 c3 charitable organization we seek to work with high schools in the Commonwealth that have the largest Hispanic communities with the greatest need. Since 2022 we have worked at Lawrence High School. In 2023, we began working with Chelsea High School.
